Open to dancers and non-dancers, and to all levels and abilities. This 4-day intensive focuses entirely on cross-training through intelligent exercise and psychological strategies. Ashley has hand-picked some of the most effective cutting-edge training techniques which are derived from a blend of influences such as yoga, Pilates, rehabilitative exercise, physical therapy, classic fitness and circus to maximize our time as movers to maintain and improve our bodies for optimal functionality, injury prevention and artistic ability. This program also includes mindfulness training based on traditions such as yoga and Buddhism and chooses simple techniques proven to be highly effective through the most recent studies in neuroscience. This enables students to implement simple tools to increase productivity, motivation, efficiency, and overall mental health. Students will receive a detailed manual as well as access to many helpful resources.

Schedule and Syllabus:
Thursday 10:30am-5:30pm Morning focuses on principles of posture, mobility and balanced training techniques for optimal strength and flexibility. Afternoon presents the basics of muscular balance and optimal alignment and is a laboratory for postural observation and correction.
Friday 10:30am-5:30pm Morning thoroughly explores preparation and training for front splits and knee stability. Afternoon lecture on key exercises from the morning as well as an introduction to mindfulness, self-awareness and self-management.
Saturday 10:30am-5:30pm Morning focuses on SI-Joint stability and low back health and flexibility for side splits. Afternoon lecture on key exercises for low back and SI-Joint stability, as well as an exploration on developing emotional intelligence and mental resilience.
Sunday 10:30am-5:30pm Morning includes neck, shoulder and upper back mobility and stability and back bends. Afternoon highlights key exercises for reducing neck and shoulder pain and increasing strength and flexibility of the upper back and shoulders…plus nutrition basics, time management skills and overall lifestyle design.

This is truly an intensive experience. Students will be working hard physically and mentally throughout the intensive. We recommend that you train to be working out for 3-4 hours per day. Ashley and many other wonderful teachers offer classes on Datura Online. A preparation program for this intensive will be available soon!
