Ashley López has been teaching since 2003 and holds current certifications with the American Council on Exercise, Yoga Alliance, Stott Pilates and is a certified 8 Elements Datura Style teacher.  In addition to yoga, Pilates and bellydance, Ashley has experience teaching a myriad of fitness formats including HIIT, Sculpt, Bootcamp, Circuit Training, Aqua, Aerobics, Kickboxing, Zumba, TRX, Springboard, and Reformer.

Her dance training formally began in 2005 with Ishara Gamal in Illinois, where she was first exposed to Egyptian and Turkish styles of bellydance, as well as American Tribal Style (ATS) and finger cymbals.  Ishara lovingly shared her wealth of knowledge of culture, history and Arabic music tradition with her students and was a great resource of good books to read for dancers.  Ashley's main dance influences include fusion dancers Rachel Brice and Zoe Jakes, with whom she has studied consistently since 2006 and has had the immense pleasure and honor to perform with.  Ashley has additionally studied with a myriad of other incredible teachers such as Amy Sigil, Mira Betz, Emilie Lauren, and many more.  For three years Ashley was a proud member of a professional Polynesian troupe, SF Hula.  In addition to bellydance, Hula and Tahitian, she has studied a bit of Jazz, Hip Hop and Flamenco.  Companies she has led include Trikhala (Illinois 2005), Orchid Bellydance (California 2007) and Allegro (Portland 2015.)

She has performed and taught in over 25 countries internationally and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois School of Music.
